Meet Stephanie Hanberry

My Family: I have been married to Scott for 25 years, and we have three girls, Hannah, Haley, & Heidi! We will be getting our first son-in-law this December, so we are excited to watch our family grow in new ways.  We also have a four-year-old Boxer named Hudson Taylor (after the missionary) and a grand-dog, Phineas, the Boston Terrier.

My Story: Growing up, going to church and learning about Jesus was a natural part of life. It was the routine. I enjoyed church; I saw friends there, sang great songs there, read the Bible there, but left it all there.

When I began dating my future husband, who was a youth minister,  I met some teenagers in his youth group who were absolutely living out their faith. The more I spent time with them, the more differences I saw between my “routine” and their relationship with Christ. I realized that I knew about Jesus, but I had not given Him my heart. One of the girls in the group had made the statement that she wanted nothing more in her life than for others to see Christ in her.  Wow! What a statement! It was not long after making that statement, that this particular girl was killed in a car accident. Upon hearing this news, my heart completely broke, and I knew it was time for me to surrender to Christ and give Him my life.
Since that time, life with Jesus has been anything but a boring old “routine.” I wake up to His new mercies each and every day and have witnessed His loving faithfulness in my life and my family’s life over and over again. He has filled my emptiness with His love!
Life is not always fun or easy, but with Christ there is always forgiveness, always fulfillment, always hope.

My Favorite Verse:

Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down
and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it. Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there! If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me. If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night,” even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with you. For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I would count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with you. Psalm 139:1-18

My Favorite Quote(s): "Make it a great day...or not. The choice is yours."  I'm not sure who originally said this, but my favorite principal, Mrs. Rebecca Dearden, closed morning announcements with it every day.

My Favorite Movie(s): Pride & Prejudice, The Greatest Showman

My Favorite Hobbies: Spending time with family, reading, I've only been on one cruise...but I WANT THAT TO BE MY HOBBIE :)!!!!!
