IT Matters...How You Behave!
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Dr. Scott Hanberry

Statement of Affirmation: I pray to God to know Him, to lay request before Him and to find direction for my daily life.

"Rejoice always! Pray constantly. Give thanks in everything, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

Paul reflects for us LIFE in the HOLY SPIRIT.

Prayer flows from life in the Spirit...and that is possible only through Jesus!

Until Christ came, no man dreamt of rejoicing always, praying constantly, giving thanks in everything. ~ James Denney

Three Marks of the Spirit-filled life:

1)  That you should experience JOY.

Prayer is not the CAUSE of the Spirit moving.

Prayer is the RESULT of the Spirit moving.

2)  That you should COMMUNICATE with the Father.

3) That you should pray with GRATITUDE.

Three questions to help us focus our minds on this whole issue of prayer and drawing us into joyful, spontaneous, thankful, faith-filled prayer, as individuals and as a church:

1)  What are we up against?

2)  What do you want to see happen?

3)  What do you depend upon?
