Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:25–28

The D.N.A. of H.S.B.C.
1 Thessalonians 5:25-28
Dr. Scott Hanberry

Two foundational themes are running through this letter:

1) __________________ what God has done.

When things are going well -- it is becuase God's grace and goodness, not our own efforts.

When things are not going well -- it gives us hope to remember that the God who has been faithful in the past will be faithful in the future.

2) Recognize the __________________ of God for the life of the Church.

Deal with the present and the future in light of the past.

Paul encourages the Thessalonians with a post script that reminds them (and us) of our position as the people of God.

FOUR REMINDERS:

~ We all stand in need of _______________.

Despite the difference in spiritual maturity, this request reflects the beauty of equality
    before God.

~ We all share the responsibility of _______________.

Christians have come into the family of God, which knows even closer ties than those of
    any human family!

~ We are all to _______________ to the authority of the Word.

The binding authority of the Word of God is central to our lives as believers!

~ We are all _______________ by the grace of our Lord.

It is the grace of the Lord Jesus that makes our salvation and sanctification possible
    from start to finish.
