Text: Psalm 73

Sometimes even the strongest Christians feel like giving up. Suffering of any kind can be a dangerous threat to faith. Pain provokes us to doubt that Jesus is better than whatever it is that we have lost - whether health, money, dreams, independence, or the life of a loved one. Together we are going to discover in Psalm 73 how that happened to a man named Asaph, and how God turned him around. In this study we will find out how God can deliver you from discouragement.

What caused all his trouble?

1. He couldn’t _________ __________ of what God was doing in the ____________ (vs. 3-12)
2. He couldn’t make sense of what God was doing in his ________ ___________. (vs. 14)
3. He could no longer see the point of _____________ a ____________ life. (vs 13)

Step one on the road to recovering our faith. ___ ___ ___ ___!

The turning point doesn’t start with an _______________, but with a ________________!

HOW TO PERSEVERE!

• Choose loyalty to God and His people! (vs 15)
• Don’t stop gathering with your church.
• Don’t stop consuming God’s word.
• Don’t stop asking for help.
• Don’t stop clinging to God’s promises.
• Don’t stop serving others.
• Keep Looking to Jesus!
